School Based Reform “Where the School Is the Agent of change”

1-Effective School: The goal of Egypt’s educational process is to improve the level of the students’ learning ability and the school that provide tutoring. In this context, we should focus on schools’ in its entity and consider the way we wish to satisfy the learning needs of the students. In order to achieve our goal, we need to improve the environment of the school, change the physical nature of the classroom, create a classroom that facilitates interaction, and allow teachers to use interactive teaching skills, thus let students who are critical thinker and a problem solver have the chance to exercise their capabilities.

Some students who experienced the ‘interaction’ methods would express their view points on by saying “before we all had to sit in rows and each one got to answer a question only in his turn, now we sit in groups and each group gets to discuss the teachers question and come up with an answer together. So everyone gets to participate”.

On the same token, the teacher would be saying “in the past we though a good class was one in which all students sat quietly and that is what our supervisors looked for as well. Now it is completely the opposite, classrooms are like beehive with lots of movements and discussion.”  It does make a difference and a positive one too.
